TALES OF MIGRATION AND BELONGING

We Are British was an ACE supported project during which I interviewed 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation immigrants to the UK. People shared stories of where they came from, how they got here and what life was like when they arrived. I spoke to nearly 100 people from a variety of backgrounds exploring notions of belonging and 'home'. 

I used these stories as inspiration for a new show. I employed five actors and a musical director and over the course of a week we interrogated the outline and devised and rehearsed a piece which we shared to an invited audience at Travelling Light Theatre Company.
